The primary goal of the Academy of Acting website is to create a simple and user-friendly platform that emphasizes class enrollment. The academy offers a wide range of acting classes, including Master Class Acting & Scene Study, Youth Master Classes, and advanced workshops. By streamlining the enrollment process, the academy aims to make it easier for aspiring actors to register for classes and engage with their offerings. The focus is on delivering professional, high-quality education through both online and in-person sessions, ensuring students receive the best training to hone their craft.

Problems

    1. Deleted WooCommerce Products: Academy of Acting encountered an issue where several products, which were configured as bookable classes, were accidentally deleted from their WooCommerce store. This impacted the academy’s ability to manage class sign-ups and track student attendance.
    2. 30MB Media Upload Limit: The media upload limit of 30MB was a significant challenge for Academy of Acting, especially for uploading high-quality video content and student submission materials for class participation. 
    3. SEO Optimization: The academy’s website was not ranking well on search engines for key terms like “acting classes,” “scene study,” or “workshops.” This significantly reduced their online visibility.
    4. Migration to WordPress Managed Hosting: To improve performance and security, the academy needed to migrate its website from shared hosting to WordPress Managed Hosting. 
    5. Client Training with Elementor: The academy’s staff needed a user-friendly content management solution that would allow them to update class information, manage bookings, and make website changes without relying completely on a developer. Elementor was chosen for this purpose, but training was needed to ensure effective use.

    1. Adding and Managing WooCommerce Products: Since there was no access to a previous backup, the products were recreated from scratch and added to WooCommerce via CSV import. The class listings were mapped correctly with all necessary details, including dates, pricing, and availability. A streamlined product management system was then implemented to ensure accuracy moving forward, with regular backups and CSV exports to prevent future data loss and ensure easy restoration if needed. This new approach provided the academy with a more reliable and scalable method for managing class bookings.
    2. Increasing Media Upload Limits: To resolve the 30MB media upload limit issue, the WordPress configuration was updated to allow larger file uploads. This enabled the academy to seamlessly upload videos, promotional materials, and high-quality content, supporting both instructional purposes and marketing.
    3. SEO Optimization: A full SEO audit was performed, identifying opportunities to optimize the site’s meta tags, headings, content structure, and image alt-texts. Keyword research tailored to the acting and performing arts industry was integrated across the site.
